Dental Services

The Free Clinic Dental Program provides critical care to adults who meet the Free Clinic eligibility requirements. Services are provided by our part-time staff dentist, and by twenty New River Valley dentists and their support staff. The dental office is located in at the Christiansburg Free Clinic on 215 Roanoke Street.

Dental care includes:

• Oral examinations

• Extractions

• Fillings

• Oral surgery

• Gum treatments

Having trouble finding a dentist? Well, here are some tips to ensure the health of your teeth and gums.  Find the specific problem you seem to be experiencing below and click on the link to find the answers. Please note that this information may change frequently and is only to be used as a general guide to help steer individuals needing dental care to potential resources.

• For children, adults under 21 years-old and pregnant women enrolled in Medicaid (Medallion/VA Premier) OR FAMIS AND Adults over 21 with Medicaid who need an extraction (tooth is not restorable) AND the infection in the tooth is jeopardizing the health of the individual (diabetes, weight loss, transplant recipient, etc.)

• If you have a child who is uninsured

• If your child is not eligible for state insurance

• Has your doctor ordered you to have all teeth removed or do you have serious medical conditions or disabilities that will require you to be under anesthesia or to be monitored in a hospital setting during the dental procedure?

Patients are seen by appointment only. To apply for services call 540-381-0820 ext. 123. Because the demand for dental is so high a $20.00 fee must be paid before the appointment is made.
