To qualify for the DDS program a patient must:
- Have a permanent disability or be over age 62. The disability may be physical or psychological. It must be a permanent condition that prohibits or significantly limits employment.
- Be within 150% of the Federal Poverty Level guidelines and unable to pay for dental treatment. They must show that they have no other means of obtaining needed dental care.
- Need extensive (comprehensive) dental treatment (i.e more than just a check-up/cleaning)
