Option #1: Call the “Smiles for Children” program (Doral Dental) at 1-888-912-3456

*** We recommend having “Smiles For Children” make the appointment for you

rather than having them give you a list of names and phone numbers as the names you receive may

not be taking new patients.  Doral (contractor for Smiles for Children) is required to find your

child a dental provider and can assist with transportation if needed.***

Option #2: Check with the Carilion Pediatric Dental Clinic at (540) 224-4380

For emergencies (call any day) For non-emergencies: Call the first business day

of each month beginning at 8:00 am! Most appointments for the month are filled

                   by 8:30 am.

***Please note that the Carilion Pediatric Dental Clinic can make special arrangements with community

partner organizations when transportation to the dental clinic is guaranteed by the organization. Typically

these arrangements are to schedule between two and four children for new patient appointments. Agency or

Organization staff may call the manager at (540) 981-7480 to discuss this option.***

Option #3: Contact the new Small Smiles Dental Clinic of Roanoke at (540) 362-5437.  Small Smiles serves children

and young adults from their first tooth through age 20 with Smiles For Children (Medicaid/FAMIS) coverage

in their state of the art clinic in the Crossroads Mall at Hershberger and Williamson Rd.

Option #4: If your child is a member of the Boys & Girls Club, contact the Delta Dental’s Smart Smiles® Coordinator at

                  (540) 904-7401 in Roanoke or (540) 267-3444 in the New River Valley.  Smart Smiles is a partnership between

Delta Dental of VA and the Virginia Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs to provide dental care to Club members who

have Medicaid/ FAMIS/Smiles for Children or no dental insurance.  Additionally, all Club members receive dental
